Acne commonly known as pimples among most of the women around the globe is a very common skin condition. It is caused by collection of excessive oil in the pores of the skin. It is a bacterial infection caused by Propionebacterium acnes. Other names of Acne are black heads, white heads or zits. Commonly Acne occurs both in the females and males in their teens and resolves in few years. It is recommended that acute acne must be treated at home with few simple remedies instead to visiting a dermatologist. Here are few common home remedies for Acne;
Cleaning and washing the face regularly – it is the most important step in the prevention of acne as it removes excessive oil, dirt and dead cells from the skin.
Lemon juice – it is recommended to used lime juice on the pimples as it dries most of the oil from the pores due to its astringent property. Once the oil is gone the pimples die down. Although, it is a very effective technique for Acne removal but it bleaches the facial skin and make skin more sensitive to the sunlight. Lemon juice effect can be doubled by adding some salt in it as it increases the drying power of lemon juice manifold.
Honey and Cinnamon – mix almost a pint of cinnamon with honey and make its paste. Apply the paste on the pimples and leave it overnight. The pimples will be disappeared overnight.
Tomatoes – paste or juice of tomato must be rubbed on the pimples for almost twenty minutes and then face is washed. This practice surely removes the pimples.
Nutmeg – paste of nutmeg and boiled milk is very effective in relieving acne if applied for almost half an hour daily for few days on the blemish area of skin.
Mint – fresh mint leaves or juice is as effective as lemon juice in extracting excessive oil from the pores and making it acne free. It should be applied for almost six to eight hours for good results.
Oranges – oranges have vitamin C and they are otherwise good for the skin if taken in the diet regularly. Moreover, ground orange peels with few drops of water added in them is very effective in treating acne.
Rose water and Sandalwood – this combination if applied for twenty minutes on the face has very promising effects in reducing pimples.
